For the second time this year, Rocky Patel is lowering the prices of some of its cigars. Effective yesterday, Sept. 5, the Rocky Patel DBS line has decreased in price.

DBS was introduced in late 2022, with price points starting at $20 per cigar. Depending on the size, the MSRP has decreased by $3-4 per cigar.

  • Rocky Patel DBS Robusto (5 1/2 x 50) — $17 (Previously $20)
  • Rocky Patel DBS Sixty (6 x 60) — $19 (Previously $23)
  • Rocky Patel DBS Toro (6 1/2 x 52) — $18 (Previously $21)

In addition, the Rocky Patel DBS Limited Edition Humidor, which comes with 100 DBS Toros, has decreased from $2,800 to $2,380.

While retailers were sent a letter about the change, no reason was given for the new pricing.

DBS stands for Double Broadleaf Selection. Blend-wise, it uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, while the dual binders come from Nicaragua and the U.S.A., specifically a Pennsylvania-grown broadleaf. The filler is made up of Honduran tobacco and Nicaraguan broadleaf. The line is produced at the company’s Tabacalera Villa Cuba S.A. (TAVICUSA) factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
