If you’d like to be able to use the XIKAR Perfect Xi1 on cigars thicker than 60-ring gauge, there’s a larger version of the cutter coming.

Quality Importers Trading Co. has announced the new XIKAR Xi80 Perfect Cut, which takes the XIKAR Xi80—a massive version of the brand’s iconic Xi double guillotine cutter—and adds a backplate similar to the Perfect Xi1. The new cutter measures 2.25 inches wide, .33 inches deep and 3.86 inches tall.

Compared to the Xi80, the major change is that one side of the cutter has a metal plate that covers the opening hole of the cutter. This serves two purposes. First, it makes it difficult for anyone to cut too much of the cigar off. Second, the backplate traps the cut tobacco cap after each cut. In order to remove the tobacco from the cutter, the user needs to open the cutter and the cut tobacco will come out.

The Xi80 Perfect Cut has an MSRP of $54.99 and comes with XIKAR’s lifetime warranty. A shipping date has not been announced.

Like other Xi cutters, this is a double guillotine cutter in a trademarked teardrop body design. The user pulls down on a button in the center of the cutter and the blades expand open in a butterfly way via springs. To cut the cigar, the user places their fingers on the sides of the cutter and pushes the blades back in.

“XIKAR continues to meet the desires of cigar aficionados – providing a precise cut for large cigars without compromising their integrity,” said Jimmy Miudo, evp of product design, sourcing, and business intelligence at Quality Importers, in a press release. “With the XI80 Perfect Cut, users can expect an exact cut every time for larger cigars up to an 80-ring gauge.”

Quality Importers launched the Xi Perfect last year.
