The Premium Cigar Association (PCA)—a retailer-focused trade organization best known for its annual trade show—has announced that it will be hosting events during this summer’s Democratic National Convention (DNC) and Republican National Convention (RNC).
Each event will be hosted at a specific cigar shop, one that is a member of the organization. The first of these events will take place at Metro Cigars (Germantown) from 6-9 p.m. on July 16, 2024. This will coincide with the RNC, which is taking place in Milwaukee, Wisc.
The second event will take place at Up Down Cigar in downtown Chicago. That event will be from 6-9 p.m. on Aug. 20, which is when the DNC is being held.
“It is important that the premium cigar industry has a presence at these key political events, and it is exciting to host an event for both parties at PCA member locations to showcase the essence of specialty tobacco retailing,” said Joshua Habursky, interim executive director for PCA, in a press release.
According to a press release, the events are being held in “cooperation with the Cigar Association of America (CAA) and Drew Estate Cigars.” The PCA says it hopes to bring together politicians—elected officials and others—and cigar retailers.
Those interested in attending can register for both the Milwaukee and Chicago events online.
