Falto Cigars has never been one to release a dozen new lines with three sizes each, at least as far as I can remember. Instead, the focus always seems to be on one or two cigars, perhaps a regular production release or just a limited edition with only 100 boxes produced.
Last year there were no new cigars, but instead, a new booth. This year, the basic booth structure was reused along with some of the display cases.
What changed, however, were small things like the wall graphics and display case layout. It gave it a fresh enough feel that I had to stop and look back at our 2022 coverage to check exactly what was different. In addition to the changes, this year, there was a new release in the form of the previously mentioned limited edition.
Falto La Obra Babalú Ayé
Company founder Luis Falto explained La Obra as meaning either work of art or the meaning he’s based this cigar on, the practicing of Santería. Babalú Ayé is one of the more popular Orishas of Santería, thus the full name of the cigar. While it was not mentioned, it does make me curious if we’ll see future releases using the La Obra name and switching up the Orisha moniker for another size in the blend.
