CigarBros is one of the more unique companies exhibiting here at PCA 2023. The company’s main product is a combination of a physical item (a large cabinet humidor) and a service (cigar sales), though that description doesn’t really crack the surface. The humidor is designed to display single cigars vertically, and the sales component is a curated list of SKUs designed to be merchandised in the humidor. These humidors aren’t targeted at consumers, nor are they really targeted at most of the retailers here at PCA 2023. Instead, these are for hotels, restaurants, bars, gift shops, golf courses, and other locations that would like to sell cigars, without having to build a walk-in humidor or develop relationships with a number of vendors.

Remon Mansour, the company’s founder, told me that the vertical humidors still get attention at this show. Apparently, there are quite a few cigar shop owners that have other businesses that these work well in. However, this year, CigarBros has an all-new product that is a 180 from the aforementioned vertical humidors. More on that below.

The CigarBros booth is located on one of the main horizontal corridors towards the front of the show. It’s a place that will receive ample foot traffic all week(end), and CigarBros isn’t letting it go to waste. The company has one of the more professional booths, and it’s also one of the brightest. Their branding and call to action (we can save you money) are prominently displayed throughout.

CigarBros + Boveda Humidor

It’s called the CigarBros + Boveda Humidor, and it’s made of expanded polypropylene (EPP), a type of closed-cell foam. The humidor measures 10 inches long by 14 inches wide, and 5.88 inches tall. Inside, the dimensions are 8 x 12 x 3.7, which the company says can allow up to 80 cigars to be stored.

Given that it’s made of foam, the humidor is rather lightweight when empty. To me, this is ideal for cigar smokers that are just starting out and have outgrown a plastic bag, but don’t want the hassle or commitment of a wooden humidor. It also seems ideal for someone that wants to take a large quantity of cigars on a hunting or fishing trip. A point about the latter: I am curious to know if it will float.

The humidor has a fully removable lid, something I don’t see on wooden humidors. The bottom compartment has a removable divider and a slot for an included 60-gram Boveda pack. There are two small notches on opposing corners that make it easier to remove the lid. If you are wondering about the lid’s seal, in my brief experience with the CigarBros + Boveda Humidor, that’s not going to be a problem.
