Viaje Announces 2013 Exclusivo Chiquito Retailers

On Thursday morning, Viaje announced the four retailers who will be receiving the 2013 edition of the Exclusivo Chiquito, a cigar made once every two years. The announcement came via the company’s Facebook page, and the retailers have been invoiced for the cigars, meaning they should be shipping soon.

They are:

The Humidor
Wichita, KS
(316) 440-4890

Riverside Cigar Shop
Jeffersonville, Indiana
(812) 284-6198

Cigar Pointe
San Antonio, TX
(210) 888-2933

Winston’s Humidor
Midlothian, VA
(804) 379-2985

News of the cigar’s return was reported in early March, as it was learned that the 4 7/8 x 51 Figurado would be limited to 100 boxes, though split between four retailers as opposed to being split between just two as in previous years. The pricing appears to have gone up slightly, as Riverside Cigar Shop tweeted that they were selling them for $219 a box, plus shipping. The 2011 edition had an MSRP of $212.50 for the 25-count box.

The 2011 Viaje Exclusivo Chiquito was reviewed on halfwheel here. This is the first edition of the Exclusivo Chiquito not to be sold at Tower Pipes & Cigars in Sacramento, Calif., as they were chosen for both of the first two releases.

About the author

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for, plus I'm a voice over artist. I previously covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
