A new Nestor Miranda Special Selection Connecticut will ship to stores next week, marking a return for the brand which was phased out in 2014.

The new version is similar to the original line, which debuted in 2012, though it’s not identical. Jason Wood, vp of Miami Cigar & Co., told halfwheel that the blend is as close as the company could get to the original, but it’s not identical. The company is not disclosing the new blend, but the original used an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic, Honduras and Nicaragua. Like the original, it is made at My Father Cigars S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua.

It will return in three sizes:

  • Nestor Miranda Special Selection Connecticut Coffee Break (4 1/2 x 50) — $7.50 (Box of 20, $150)
  • Nestor Miranda Special Selection Connecticut Toro (5 1/2 x 54) — $8.25 (Box of 20, $165)
  • Nestor Miranda Special Selection Connecticut Gran Toro (6 x 60) — $8.75 (Box of 20, $175)

There’s also a subtle change to the packaging. The original logo used a light gray on top of white color scheme for the logo, now it’s white on top of a dark blue color.

The Nestor Miranda Special Selection Connecticut was phased out in 2014 when Miami Cigar & Co. rebranded the entire Nestor Miranda portfolio. The Connecticut remained but was renamed “Nestor Miranda Collection Connecticut” and was packaged in black boxes with blue accents.
