My Father Cigars Inc. will be adding a new vitola to the company’s El Centurion H-2K-CT line during the 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show.

In an email, José Ortega, vp of sales for My Father Cigars, told halfwheel that the new 6 1/2 x 58 box-pressed toro grande vitola will have an MSRP of $10.70 each and it will be packaged in 20-count boxes.  As with the rest of the El Centurion H-2K-CT line, the new size is produced at My Father’s factory in Estelí, Nicaragua and features a blend made up of a Cuban-seed wrapper grown in Connecticut over a Nicaraguan binder and filler.

The line debuted in the summer of 2015, and has thus far been available in just two regular production sizes, a 5 1/2 x 48 corona and a 6 x 52 toro. A third size, a 6 1/2 x 52 box-pressed torpedo, was released as a limited edition size for the Tobacconists Association of America in 2016.

According to Ortega, boxes of the El Centurion H-2K-CT Toro Grande are scheduled to begin shipping to retailers during the 2024 PCA Convention, which takes place from March 23-25 in Las Vegas.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
