Miami Cigar & Co.’s Danno Returns for 2015

The Danno is back, with new digs and more wrappers.

Next week, Miami Cigar & Co. will begin a series of launch events for the 2015 version of the company’s Danno, a limited edition cigar to honor the late Daniel Luis Miranda, the son of company founders Mariana and Nestor Miranda.

The Danno debuted in 2009, a year after Daniel’s passing and also the 20th anniversary of the company. It returned in limited form a few more times, but has not been released since the company overhauled the Nestor Miranda Collection last year.

The new Danno is consistent with the new branding and blending. It will now be offered in three different wrappers—like the regular NMC Collection—Connecticut (Ecuadorian Connecticut), Habano (Nicaraguan habano) and Maduro (broadleaf maduro). The cigars use fillers from Brazil, Honduras and Nicaragua, but the percentages are changed depending on the wrapper.

It measures 7 x 56.

“As you all can imagine, the Danno cigar holds a very special place in my heart, and I am very excited to be releasing it under the new NMC brand,” said Nestor Miranda. “This cigar has always been the epitome of my brand, and I am so proud to present you with our newest version.”

There will be 1,000 boxes of 20 made in each wrapper. Suggested retail pricing is $12 per cigar.

While the cigars will ship nationally on July 1, the company will kick-off six launch events next Friday starting at Sanj’s Smoke in Bloomfield, N.J. Miranda will be on hand for that event as well as events at Wooden Indian Tobacco Shop and Cigar Lounge (Havertown, Pa., June 13), Barrister Cigars (Union, N.J., June 17), El Humidor (Plains, Pa., June 18), Tobacco Park (Flushing, N.Y., June 19) and Two Guys Smoke Shop (Salem, N.H., June 20).
