Meerapfel Cigar, the Meerapfel family’s flagship brand, has announced that it has updated the internal tray used for its 25-count boxes.

The company says that for the 2023 shipments, each of the 25-count boxes will come with an updated tray that allows for better airflow. Meerapfel’s standard boxes, which the company refers to as chests, are unique 25-count boxes where the cigars are placed in a single row of 25. Those cigars sit on a floating shelf that has a Boveda humidification packs underneath. Now the boxes will have even greater airflow thanks to the updated Royal Paulownia shelf, which features a variety of smaller cut-outs, including ones that form the company’s logo.

The original version of the boxes had just one wide opening.

The company says it chose Royal Paulownia because it is lightweight and grows fast enough to make it a sustainable wood.

In addition to the 25-count boxes, the company offers its Double Robusto vitola in 10-count boxes that come with the cigars placed inside of a custom ashtray.
