The first two cigar lines from MB Fuma—the new cigar company from Jared Ingrisano—are now shipping to retailers, while a third is scheduled to be released early next year.

According to the company, Straight Off The Boat was created to celebrate “the Italian immigrants of the Americas, but especially those of Nicaragua who enriched and beautified the nation.”

Straight Off the Boat is available in two different blends, each made up of all Nicaraguan tobacco: the Alla Brace features a maduro wrapper, while the Cazza La Randa is made with a habano wrapper.

  • Straight Off the Boat Cazza La Randa Habano Robusto (5 x 54) — $9 (Box of 20, $180) (Box of 6, $54)
  • Straight Off the Boat Cazza La Randa Habano Torpedo (6 1/4 x 52) — $10 (Box of 20, $200) (Box of 6, $60)
  • Straight Off the Boat Allla Brace Maduro Robusto (5 x 54) — $9 (Box of 20, $180) (Box of 6, $54)
  • Straight Off the Boat Allla Brace Maduro Torpedo (6 1/4 x 52) — $10 (Box of 20, $200) (Box of 6, $60)

The company is also shipping Consegna Speciale, which translates to Special Delivery in Italian. Unlike the Straight Off The Boat, the Consegna Speciale is available in a singular 4 x 49 Rothschild vitola.

The new cigar is a Nicaraguan puro made up of a habano wrapper, Jalapa binder and filler tobaccos from the Condega and Estelí growing regions. It has an MSRP of $7.75 per cigar and is available in both boxes of six cigars and 25 cigars.

In addition, the company has announced that it has started sales of its third line named NOV30 today, with shipments to retailers currently scheduled to begin on Jan. 24, 2024. The new cigar is the first addition to MB Fuma’s Legacy Line and according to a press release the name is a reference to November 30th, which is “the date of Saint Andrew’s Martyrdom and Patronage of Ponce De León’s discovery and founding of “La Florida” under the Spanish throne and the Flag of the Cross of Burgundy.”

The first cigar under the NOV30 brand will be El Cuadrado, a 5 x 52 box-pressed robusto made of all Nicaraguan tobacco, including a “proprietary” wrapper grown in the Condega Valley. El Cuadrado is priced at $12.50 each and is available in six-count “designer” boxes as well as 20-count boxes.

The MB Fuma brand was founded by Ingrisano, co-founder of Favillii Trading LLC and former president of Mombacho Cigars S.A., and all of the company’s cigars are being made at the AgroIndustrial Nicaraguense de Tabacos S.A. cigar factory located in Condega, Nicaragua.

In an email, Ingrisano told halfwheel that boxes of Straight Off The Boat and Consegna Speciale started shipping to “11 or so” retailers in Florida last week and that more are scheduled to ship to additional retailers around the country “right after Thanksgiving.”

Update (Nov. 30, 2023): This article has been updated with information on the NOV30 El Cuadrado.

I have been smoking cigars for over eight years. A documentary wedding photographer by trade, I spent seven years as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star Telegram. I started the cigar blog SmokingStogie in 2008 after realizing that there was a need for a cigar blog with better photographs and more in-depth information about each release. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars. I am a co-founder of halfwheel and now serve as an editor for halfwheel.
