Later this month, Crowned Heads will ship the Le Carême Belicosos Finos 2021 LE. It will mark the third time in four years there has been a limited release of a Le Carême in a belicoso size.

Originally released in 2018, the 5 1/2 x 52 belicoso differs from the regular Le Carême line not just because it’s limited, but also because it has a round shape whereas the regular production vitolas have a soft box-press.

Despite the difference in press, the blend is the same as the regular line. It uses a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper over an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and fillers from Nicaragua.

“Despite the fact that we were completely out of stock on all Le Carême cigars in 2020 due to a shortage on Connecticut Broadleaf (wrapper) tobacco, we still continue to receive weekly inquiries on the Le Carême line,” said Jon Huber, co-founder of Crowned Heads, in a press release. “We’re extremely excited to be bring back not only the Belicosos Finos, but the Le Carême brand as well, into the retail spotlight.”

This is the third release for the Le Carême Belicosos Finos and the smallest to date. Just 1,000 boxes will be released for 2021 and 2,500 for the 2019 version; there was no 2020 version.

Pricing has increased from $10 per cigar to $11 per cigar.

The Le Carême Belicosos Finos 2018 LE finished second on halfwheel’s Top 25 for 2018.
