In February, LaVega Cigar will release a new addition to its Limited Series: a cigar called Il Seguito, a follow-up to the Nano, which was released in February 2024.

Like the Nano, Il Seguito is a “found cigar,” meaning the cigars were previously produced and sitting in a factory As with the Nano, Tony Bellatto of Bellatto Premium Cigars and Lost&Found was involved in finding these cigars. While the Nano came from an undisclosed factory in Nicaragua, Il Seguito comes from an undisclosed factory in the Dominican Republic. While little was disclosed about the Nano’s blend other than that it used a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, much more is being disclosed about this new cigar.

Il Seguito is a 6 x 60 box-pressed gordo—another change from the 4 x 60 Nano—and has a blend that uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper, a Brazilian binder, and fillers from the Dominican Republic, Honduras and an undisclosed country.

It is priced at $13.50 per cigar, and the release is limited to 150 boxes of 10 cigars.

“I am extremely excited to be able to continue the limited series release with the Il Seguito,” said Aaron Paoletta, founder of LaVega Cigar Co., in a press release. “The Nano was a fantastic cigar with bold flavors that you would expect coming from a Nicaraguan cigar. However, given the blend on this cigar, it’s a complete 180 from the previous release, and I couldn’t be happier to be able to give people a chance to try this masterpiece.”

Paoletta said that he has decided to release one of these small batch, limited editions per year for as long as proper cigars can be sourced.

“We’re able to carry on the tradition that Robert Caldwell and Tony Bellatto set up when they founded Lost&Found Cigars. Since Tony Bellatto is my mentor, I found it fitting and respectful to be able to continue on with this great idea.”

The Il Seguito name comes from the Italian phrase for the sequel, which is in keeping with Paoletta’s practice of giving his cigars Italian names. The cigars are scheduled to ship to retailers on Feb. 4, 2025.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
