Many cigar factories have rolling schools within their operations to train new cigar rollers and bunchers. These new hires will spend their days rolling and bunching cigars, usually at a slower pace and with more instruction than more experienced workers. Because cigar factories don’t waste cigars, those cigars will eventually be sold, though not usually with any designation that they were made by workers who were in a training process.

With its newest release, La Flor Dominicana isn’t hiding where the cigars came from. The La Flor Dominicana Rolling School Class of 2021 is a trio of new bundle offerings that makes it clear these cigars were rolled by some of its newest employees that have graduated from the rolling school inside Tabacalera La Flor S.A. There are three different cigars offered, each a 5 x 42 corona that uses a Dominican binder and Dominican long-fillers. Three different Ecuadorian wrappers are offered: Connecticut, Habano and Sumatra.

Each cigar has an MSRP of $4 and they are sold in bundles of 20 cigars. Retailers will have the option to purchase a display box that can hold six bundles.

La Flor Dominicana is not disclosing how many cigars it is selling as part of the release, but it is limited based on the number of cigars that were produced in the school. That said, the school continues to train new employees and the company plans on selling subsequent versions, though labeled with the year the employees graduate from the rolling school program.
