La Flor Dominicana is beginning to let details about an upcoming 20th anniversary cigar out that is scheduled to be on display at the upcoming 2014 IPCPR Convention and Trade Show.
Jon Carney, La Flor Dominicana’s vice president of sales, posted this picture to his Instagram account on Tuesday, which shows the unique packaging of the project. It’s a beer stein reminiscent of those found around Germany during Oktoberfest.
The company has not released any official information at this point, though Cigar Aficionado has reported that the cigar will use a Mexican San Andrés wrapper with Dominican filler and binder. Production has been reported at 3,000 jars, with each containing 20 cigars for a total run of 60,000 cigars that will tentatively hit stores in September, though La Flor Dominicana could not confirm those details to halfwheel.
“We’ve been putting tobacco away for years for this,” said Litto Gomez, co-founder of La Flor Dominicana, to halfwheel in November of last year. “It’s definitely going to be a cigar that is going to commemorate the 20 years of our company.”
The name of the project has not been decided, though Gomez has spoken frequently of the project for the last few years.
