There’s a new size coming to La Flor Dominicana’s 1994 line this summer, a 4 1/2 x 48 petit robusto called Tango.

The new size will debut at the IPCPR Convention & Trade Show in New Orleans next week, with shipping expected to begin in the next 30-45 days. When it hits shelves, it will come in 20 count boxes with an MSRP of $136, or $6.80 per stick, before taxes.

La Flor Dominicana debuted the 1994 line at the 2014 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show as part of the company’s 20th anniversary, releasing it in four sizes: Aldaba (6 x 58, $8.30), Conga (5 x 52, $7.50), Mambo (7 x 54, $8.20) and Rumba (6 1/2 x 52, $7.80). A fifth version, a 6 x 54 toro gordo released in a limited edition commemorative beer stein, was released in January.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
