La Barba’s Ricochet line will be getting a new extension in the form of Crü Mexi-Sol.

The new line uses a Mexican sun grown wrapper, an Indonesian binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Pennsylvania. It is to be similar to left bank Bourdeaux wines, with Tony Bellatto, La Barba’s founder, describing it as having “a definitive spicy minerality, and a touch of soft sweetness.”

It will be offered in four sizes.

  • La Barba Ricochet Crü Mexi-Sol 4 1/4 x 44 — $7 (Box of 25, $175)
  • La Barba Ricochet Crü Mexi-Sol 6 1/4 x 52 — $11.25 (Box of 25, $281.25)
  • La Barba Ricochet Crü Mexi-Sol 5 1/2 x 54 — $11 (Box of 25, $275)
  • La Barba Ricochet Crü Mexi-Sol 6 x 60 — $11.75 (Box of 25, $293.75)

Crü Mexi-Sol will debut at this month’s IPCPR Convention & Trade Show and begin shipping in July.

The cigar is being made by Tabacalera William Ventura in the Dominican Republic and distributed by Down&Back, LLC.

News of the release was first reported by Cigar Aficionado.
