La Aurora is preparing for the colder months ahead by announcing two new, small vitolas for both its Cameroon 1903 and León Jimenes Connecticut lines.

The La Aurora Original Blend Cameroon 1903, which uses an Ecuadorian Cameroon wrapper, Ecuadorian binder, and fillers from the Dominican Republic, is adding the 4 x 30 Finos and the 3 1/6 x 22 Miniature. Both sizes are offered in tins of 10 cigars, with the Finos having an MSRP of $19 and the Minitaure priced at $12.50.

Meanwhile, the León Jimenes Connecticut, a machine-made line that uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper atop long-leaf Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos, is adding the 4 x 30 Petite and 3 2/5 x 22 Miniature. They are also offered in 10-count tins, with the Petite priced at $18.50 and the Miniature priced at $12.50.

The company says that the new sizes take between 10-15 minutes to smoke, making them ideal for when time is limited, or for those who are new to cigars and may not want a larger size. The smaller sizes are also designed to be convenient, as they are ready to smoke right out of the tin with no cutting of a cap needed.

“Both the La Aurora as well as the León Jimenes Connecticut are blends that work very well in the finos and miniature formats,” said John Ferrigan, national sales director for La Aurora in a press release. “As our account base has grown significantly since our start of operations last year, we look forward to bringing more informed innovations like this into our portfolio both in terms of formats and new blends.”

The cigars will begin shipping to retailers in early September.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
