The fifth size of the La Aurora 120 Anniversary is now heading to stores.

Yesterday, La Aurora began shipping the 120 Anniversary Limited Edition. Like the regular production La Aurora 120 Anniversary, it’s a Dominican puro that uses a habano 92 wrapper over corojo, olor and piloto cubano fillers. It’s made in the Preferidos #1 vitola, a 6 x 58 double perfecto.

The MSRP is set at $40 per cigar and production is limited to 2,500 boxes of 10 cigars.

Each cigar is packed in an individual coffin that swings open via hinges. This is a nod to the original Preferidos #1 and its unique coffin.

Founded in 1903 by Eduardo León Jimenes, La Aurora is the Dominican Republic’s oldest cigar factory, celebrating its 120th anniversary this year.

“This unique edition is a tribute to the very first Preferidos cigars in 1903, with replicas of the original tubes encapsulating a new, meticulously crafted blend,” said Guillermo León, president of La Aurora, in a press release. “The design features a perfecto or double figurado shape, similar to what was created 120 years ago, and today is our most premium offering known by many from the colored tubos that encase the cigars which only our most expert rollers are asked to craft. Together, these elements create a perfect synergy of aroma, flavor, strength, and tradition that magnifies the quality of our Dominican tobacco, the craftsmanship of our team of experts and the history of La Aurora.”

In September, the company shipped the four regular production sizes of the La Aurora 120 Anniversary:

  • La Aurora 120 Anniversary Robusto (5 x 50) — $14 (Box of 20, $280)
  • La Aurora 120 Anniversary Toro (5 1/4 x 54) — $16.10 (Box of 20, $322)
  • La Aurora 120 Anniversary Gran Toro (6 x 58) — $16.80 (Box of 20, $336)
  • La Aurora 120 Anniversary Churchill (7 x 47) — $16.10 (Box of 20, $322)
