Javier Estades is once again the chairman of the Cigar Association of America (CAA).

The trade group has announced that Estades—who is the ceo and president of Tabacalera USA, the parent company of Altadis U.S.A., JR Cigar and others—has been elected to a third term. He previously served as CAA chairman from 2016-2020.

Estades replaces John Miller, who spent less than a year as CAA chairman. Last week, Swisher announced that Miller was no longer the company’s ceo and president, though Swisher has not given a reason for his departure.

“Javier Estades has always just been one of those people who gets it,” said Craig Williamson, president of CAA, in a press release. “When he stepped down as chairman, I said that we would miss his leadership, affable demeanor, and steady hand, and now I am thrilled to welcome Javier back as our Chairman once again.”

CAA started in 1937 as Cigar Manufacturers of America, though the group claims its roots exist prior to 1900. It represents both premium and mass market cigar manufacturers, as well as importers and suppliers.
