Jason Carignan is the new chief commercial officer at Chemular, a tobacco compliance company.
As part of his new role, Carignan will be tasked with growing the company’s business, which specializes in helping tobacco or vaping companies navigate various regulations, including FDA’s PMTA process, PACT Act compliance in the U.S. or the European Union’s TPD process.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jason to the Chemular team,” said Kevin Burd, ceo of Chemular, in a press release. “His deep industry knowledge and proven leadership in revenue generation and partnership strategies will be instrumental in driving our growth and expanding our client base. We believe Jason’s appointment will advance our mission of providing comprehensive regulatory solutions to our clients and partners.”
That deep industry knowledge includes nearly a decade at Kretek/Phillips & King, where Carignan most recently served as the president of Phillips & King International and Total Product Expo (TPE)/Tobacco Media Group. His time there saw TPE transform into a dynamic trade show that has grown substantially in terms of its importance to the cigar, vape and alternative categories. He rose from chief marketing officer to becoming the president of P&K, a massive distributor of tobacco products ranging from cigars to vaping products to hookah tobacco.
“I am honored to join Chemular and take on the role of Chief Commercial Officer,” said Carignan. “Chemular has established itself as a trusted and innovative partner for clients navigating the complex landscape of FDA regulations. I look forward to leveraging my experience and expertise to drive revenue growth, establish impactful partnerships, and contribute to Chemular’s continued success.”
Kretek has not named a replacement.
