Once again, Viaje was part of the PDR Cigars booth, something attributable to the fact that PDR produces some of Viaje’s cigars. In terms of actual space, it was about the equivalent of a standard booth space, which measures 10 feet wide by 10 feet deep.
Given Viaje specializes in limited editions and seasonal releases, the company didn’t have tons in the way of cigars on display, but it did have a trio of new releases, all of which likely mark the first celebration of a 12 1/2 year anniversary. It’s not the most commonly celebrated anniversary, but Viaje is releasing a trio of cigars in celebration of 12 1/2 years in business as the company’s official 13th anniversary isn’t until Jan. 2020.
Andre Farkas likes to keep things fun with his cigars, and celebrating the milestone is one way to do that. He also said it’ll be a Christmas-in-July kind of treat. The sides of the boxes are one way to tell the cigars apart, as the word ANNIVERSARY is stamped in negative with a white, yellow or red background. Another way is on the side of the bands, which indicates whether you have the Silver, Gold or Red blends as they are more formally known. You can also tell them apart by the color of the wrapper leaves, as the Red is significantly darker than the others, but Gold and Silver might be a challenge. The red is also box-pressed. Pricing is still to be confirmed, but could be set by the end of the show.
Viaje Ten Plus Two And A Half Anniversary Silver
Both the Silver and Gold use the same blend, but just in different proportions. Farkas said that once both are smoked, it will be easy to differentiate the two.
- Wrapper: Nicaragua (Criollo 98)
- Binder: Nicaragua (Corojo 99)
- Filler: Nicaragua (Criollo 98 & Corojo 99)
- Viaje Ten Plus Two And A Half Anniversary Silver (6 x 54)

Viaje Ten Plus Two And A Half Anniversary Gold
Again, same blend as the Silver, same size, same production numbers. The bands do indicate the blend, so that will help, and the flavor profile differences will help as well.

Viaje Ten Plus Two And A Half Anniversary Red
