IPCPR 2019: Mombacho Cigars S.A.
Mombacho has a new collaboration with a favorite rum of the halfwheel staff, Diplomático.
Despite my visit during lunch time, plenty of people were moving in and out of the open design booth, and milling around the outside looking at the products on display along the edges. One of those products on display is a new collaboration with Diplomático rum that they were very excited to talk about.
Diplomático
Diplomático rum and Mombacho saw a mutually beneficial opportunity to work together, with the end results being the Diplomático cigar. In addition to working together to further their businesses, they are also working together to give back. Part of the proceeds from the Diplomático cigar sales from Mombacho will go to a non-profit organization in Granada, while Diplomático’s part will go to a non-profit organization in Venezuela.

Mombacho’s single vintage release is back, this year with tobaccos all from a 2014 harvest. Coming in a single size, the tobacco from 2014 was used to roll the cigars in 2016, which have been resting since.

I have been smoking cigars since 2005 and reviewing them as a hobby since 2010. Initially, I started out small with a 50-count humidor and only smoking one or two cigars a month. Not knowing anybody else that smoked cigars, it was only an occasional hobby that I took part in.
