IPCPR 2018: Curivari
Two years ago when it was apparent that brands, blends and new sizes of cigars needed to be on the market ahead of the Aug. 8, 2016 FDA deadline, Curivari debuted many of each way ahead of when they had ever planned to.
Last year, that meant focusing on stuff that had officially been launched in 2016, but got to see a more wide release at the show. This year, the new sizes, brands and blends had all been released, but that doesn’t mean Curivari sat around not doing anything.
Curivari Colección No. 1 Sampler
The first of two sampler collections, the Colección No. 1 focuses on the company’s Greek-themed brands. It includes one of each of the Archimedes, Aristoteles, Centauro, Ciclope, La Democracia, Onassis, Pythagoras and Socrates in the robusto sizes, which vary slightly from blend to blend.

Curivari Colección No. 2 Sampler
Much the same as the first sampler, this one also has eight cigars, one from each of the Curivari Micro Blend Series: Aniversario 1997, Epitome, Grand Cru, Gran Reserva, Sun Grown, Sun Grown Maduro, Vintage and Virtudes. These too are the robusto sizes, each differing from blend to blend.

I have been smoking cigars since 2005 and reviewing them as a hobby since 2010. Initially, I started out small with a 50-count humidor and only smoking one or two cigars a month. Not knowing anybody else that smoked cigars, it was only an occasional hobby that I took part in. In March of 2010, I joined Nublive and Cigar Asylum, connecting me with many people who also shared an interest in cigars. Reading what they had to say about brands I had never heard of, I quickly immersed myself in the boutique brands of the industry and it was then that cigars transformed from a hobby into a passion.
