After visiting more than 10 booths, Cornelius & Anthony was easily the busiest, with so many people at some points I had a hard time moving around.

The company had announced two new lines before the show, both of which are only available to retailers at the IPCPR show.

Described as “more medium-bodied”, The Gent is the first new line and is made up of four different vitolas, all of which are over 46 ring gauge.

Cornelius & Anthony The Mistress

Meant to be a blend released in conjunction with The Gent while being almost totally opposite in terms of profile, the Mistress is being billed as a “knock your socks off” cigar that is not for the faint of heart.

I have worn many hats in my life up to this point: I started out as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, then transitioned to photographing weddings—both internationally and in the U.S.—for more than a decade. After realizing that there was a need for a cigar website containing better photographs and more in-depth information about each release, I founded my first cigar blog, SmokingStogie, in 2008. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars, and it was one of the predecessors to halfwheel, which I co-founded.
