Villiger’s new release for the 2017 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show is one that the company has released before. In fact, the La Flor de Ynclan brand has been released twice before: once as an old Cuban brand and again in 2007 by Villiger before it was discontinued.

La Flor de Ynclan

The newest incarnation of La Flor de Ynclan features a new blend consisting of an Ecuadorian wrapper covering an Indonesian binder as well as Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. There are three different vitolas packaged in boxes of 25, all of which are being rolled at the ABAM Cigar Factory in the Dominican Republic.

  • Wrapper: Ecuador
  • Binder: Indonesia
  • Filler: Dominican Republic & Nicaragua
  • La Flor de Ynclan Robusto (5 x 50) — $11 (Boxes of 25, $275)
  • La Flor de Ynclan Torpedo (6 x 52) — $12 (Boxes of 25, $300)
  • La Flor de Ynclan Churchill (7 x 48) — $12 (Boxes of 25, $300)

Launch Date: Aug. 1, 2017

La Libertad Packaging Changes

In addition to the La Flor de Ynclan, Villiger is updating the packaging on its La Libertad line, which will now feature new bands as well as brand new glossy boxes. According to Villiger, the new packaging for all four vitolas in the line should be shipping to retailers by the end of year.

I have been smoking cigars for over eight years. A documentary wedding photographer by trade, I spent seven years as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star Telegram. I started the cigar blog SmokingStogie in 2008 after realizing that there was a need for a cigar blog with better photographs and more in-depth information about each release. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars. I am a co-founder of halfwheel and now serve as an editor for halfwheel.
