Padrón has waited six long years to release a brand new line of cigars, and it is prominently featured at the company’s booth this year.

Padron Damaso

The Padrón Damaso is a milder and lighter cigar that Padrón feels will appeal to domestic cigar smokers who want something lighter but with the quality of tobacco that they pride themselves on. It is being released in four sizes, the No. 17 (7 x 54), No. 15 (6 x 52), No. 8 (5 1/2 x 46) and No. 12 (5 x 50). It is currently shipping to retailers worldwide.

Jorge Padrón has a bit more to say about it in this video:

It’s a beautiful cigar but there is a certain unfamiliarity with both the branding and cellophane. Needless to say, the booth was full of retailers early on in day one looking to get the line on their shelves as soon as possible.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
