There were no surprises at IPCPR this year for My Father, largely because the Jaime Garcia Limited Edition 2012 shipped the week before. The focus was long understood to be on La Dueña, and the spotlight shined solely on La Dueña. As always, the My Father booth was busy and colorful.

All five sizes were on display with the production art. Most of the details were covered when Brooks reviewed a prerelease here. These have already begun shipping, at least to Casa de Montecristo who had the national launch.

It was on display at the show, but it was already out. As was expected, it’s the Jaime Garcia Limited Edition 2011 reversed, i.e. 15 Connecticuts and one Maduro. As for a 2013 version, it could be shelved in favor of a Don Pepin Garcia 10th Anniversary release. Josè Ortega did say the next Jaime Garcia, Sur Oeste—a regional edition for the southwest—is coming very soon.

José Ortega showed off his famous Sparky lighter (second from right) and production doubles. Ortega had a few hundred made and is giving them out to people.
