Gotham Cigars, a Florida-based internet cigar retailer, has launched its own cigar brands, which it will offer to other stores. The first round of these cigars includes three lines under the Flatbush Cigar Co. name.

Like the Flatbush name, all three lines are inspired by New York City. The Doorman uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper, Stoop 526 has a Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper and Yellow Cab uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper. All three blends use a Nicaraguan habano binder and fillers from the Condega and Jalapa regions of Nicaragua. In addition, all three are offered in the same three sizes.

  • The Doorman/Stoop 526/Yellow Cab Toro (6 x 52) — $4.28 (Bundle of 10, $42.80)
  • The Doorman/Stoop 526/Yellow Cab Gordo (6 x 60) — $4.68 (Bundle of 10, $46.80)
  • The Doorman/Stoop 526/Yellow Cab Churchill (7 x 50) — $4.38 (Bundle of 10, $43.80)

The trio is produced at Best Cigars S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua.

“The story behind the story of Flatbush Cigar Company is that a conversation that I was having about the cigar business many years ago while in Flatbush generated the idea that has become Gotham Cigars,” said Manny Balani, owner and president of Gotham Cigars, in a press release. “I have always known that I wanted to honor that meeting, and one of my favorite areas in Brooklyn, with a cigar…and now here it is. These are really fantastic cigars that are affordable. We look forward to introducing them to the market, and following that up with a few other creative ideas we have planned for the Flatbush Cigar Company.”

Kelly Michols, coo of NGG Capital—the parent of Gotham Cigars—told halfwheel that the company is handling distribution and sales in-house, though it has begun reaching out to brick-and-mortar stores and wholesalers.
