Gellis Family Cigars, the relatively new offshoot company from Warped founder Kyle Gellis, has announced its next release.

It’s called Piece Unique, a 6 x 52 toro that, according to postings by various retailers, uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed shade wrapper from ASP over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Like the first two releases from Gellis Family Cigars—Marevas and Saunter—the cigars were rolled at TABACALERA LA iSLA in the Dominican Republic. These cigars went through an extra long aging process where the cigars were stored in Spanish cedar for one year after rolling.

According to listings by retailers, the MSRP is set at $40 per cigar and production is limited to 500 boxes of 15 cigars, each of which will come with an ashtray.

Kyle Gellis did not return an email from halfwheel about Piece Unique.

Piece uinique is a noted term in the world of high-end watches, referring to literal one-of-a-kind pieces. Typically, these watches are made in one of two ways. Sometimes, a customer will be able to commission a watch brand to make a one-of-one watch; other times, the watches are produced for charity auctions like Only Watch.

While it’s unlikely that there are really any commercialized cigars that would qualify as a piece unique, what is happening with the Piece Unique cigars would not be considered an example of a piece unique as there are 500 boxes that will be sold through multiple retailers. That said, listings by retailers say that Gellis Family Cigars is marketing this as a blend that will never be recreated again. Previously, Gellis has referenced watches, specifically Patek Philippe, in other cigar and wine releases.

While Gellis Family Cigars is described as a separate entity from Warped, the cigars are distributed by Warped, which also has cigars made at LA iSLA.
