The Fratello Pocahontas is finally shipping to stores.

It is a 5 1/4 x 54 robusto extra that is part of the company’s Fratello Virginia line. Like the other vitolas in the line, it uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from Colombia, the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. The Fratello Virginia is made at the La Aurora Cigar Factory in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.

Each cigar has an MSRP of $10 per cigar and production is limited to 200 boxes of 10 cigars. It was only offered to stores that placed orders during the 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show, which took place March 23-25 in Las Vegas.

“Tobacco was Colonial Virginia’s cash crop, fueling its growth and leaving an indelible mark on American history,” said Omar de Frias, founder of Fratello, in a press release when the cigar was announced in March. “This release for Fratello conveys the story of John Rolfe, his wife Pocahontas, the Powhatan people, and Virginia, binding the state’s legacy to a leaf that changed the world.”

Fratello originally announced the cigar as an April release but delayed the cigar’s shipment multiple times.
