At next week’s InterTabac 2024 trade fair in Dortmund, Germany, Fratello will show off the latest version of its Fratello Bianco. That said, it’s not the same Bianco.
The new Fratello Bianco Nero is described by the company as “a reimagining” of the Bianco. Like the original Bianco blend—which debuted in 2015 and will continue to be made—Nero uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper; underneath that is where things change. The Nero uses an Indonesian binder over fillers from the Condega and Jalapa regions of Nicaragua. By contrast, the original Bianco uses a Dominican binder and fillers from Nicaragua, Pennsylvania and Peru. Both blends are made by Joya de Nicaragua.
Nero will debut in a single 6 x 58 box-pressed perfecto size called Riserva. The MSRP is set at $15 per cigar and production is limited to 500 boxes of 10 cigars.
While Fratello will show off the cigar during InterTabac, a trade show geared towards international distributors, it will also begin taking preorders from U.S. retailers next week. The company says the cigar is scheduled to ship on Friday, Nov. 29.
“We wanted to create something that pays tribute to the Fratello Bianco while introducing a new level of intensity and sophistication,” said Omar de Frias, founder of Fratello, in a press release. “The Bianco Nero is more than just a cigar—it is an experience that encapsulates the art of contrast, balancing complexity and richness with each draw.”
While it is debuting as a limited edition, the company says it is possible Nero will become a regular production line in the future.
