Next month, Foundation Cigar Co. is adding two perfectos to The Tabernacle line.

Like the line itself, the new vitolas are biblically-themed: David and Goliath. David is a 5 x 54 perfecto priced at $12, while Goliath is 5 x 58 and priced at $14 per cigar. While the cigars are part of The Tabernacle line, they will use different bands.

“Anyone who has smoked Connecticut cigar brands of old knows the Perfecto is a classic size,” said Nicholas Melillo, founder of Foundation, in a press release. “Back in the day it was the vitola of choice for connoisseur. When it came time to create a line extension to the Tabernacle, the blend in these two sizes could not be ignored.”

The Tabernacle line debuted in 2016, part of Foundation’s sophomore year of release. It uses a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper over a Mexican San Andrés binder and fillers from Honduras and Nicaragua. The line is produced at Tabacalera AJ Fernandez Cigars de Nicaragua S.A.
