n April 24, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) announced proposed regulations for the premium cigar industry. The regulations—which would affect every cigar being sold today in varying degrees—would be the most substantial change to the premium cigar industry since the U.S. enacted an embargo on Cuba in 1962. There is a more than legitimate threat that the U.S. cigar market could begin to be dramatically reshaped as early as this fall due to regulations.
