A 23rd anniversary isn’t generally cause for a huge celebration, but for Tabacalera Falto, it is cause for a new cigar.
Luis J. Falto has announced the release of a new cigar, the Falto LJF Reserva del Fundador, a name that translates as founder’s reserve. It’s a 5 1/2 x 52 box pressed robusto that uses a Dominican-grown Habana 92 wrapper, Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.
The Falto LJF Reserva del Fundador is priced at $7 per cigar, or $140 for a box of 20 cigars. It is being produced at the La Aurora Cigar Factory in the Dominican Republic, and while it’s a regular production cigar, Falto is limiting each production run to just 100 boxes.
Falto told halfwheel that the cigar is already in the market at two retailers, and will get its widespread release at the IPCPR Convention and Trade Show in July.
