Elogio Cigars has confirmed that they will be releasing a pair of new cigars at this year’s IPCPR Convention and Trade Show, which kicks off on Sunday.
The Excentrico No. 2 is a limited production of just 2,000 cigars that Nabil Sabbah of Elogio says is “a much fuller and stronger cigar than the original edition.” It is a 7 1 /4 x 58 Salomon vitola with a fantail cap that uses an Ecuadoran Habano Oscuro wrapper over a Nicaraguan Habano binder and a filler that uses five different leaves all from Nicaragua: Estelí ligero and viso, Jalapa ligero and seco and viso from Ometepe. The Elogio Excentrico No. will come in 10-count boxes with an MSRP of $15 per cigar.
Elogio will also unveil a new Robusto Especial, a 5 1/8 x 54 vitola that also uses an Ecuadoran Habano Oscuro wrapper, but with a Nicaraguan Habano Viso binder from Jalapa and filler from Jalapa and Estelí. The blend is based on the Elogio Limitada Salomon but with a slightly stronger and fuller profile. It too features a pigtail cap with the addition of a covered foot, and will be even more limited than the Excentrico No. 2, with production slated to be around 300 boxes of 10 for a total run of 3,000 cigars. The MSRP is listed at $9.50 per cigar.
The original Elogio Excentrico was reviewed on halfwheel in November 2012.
