El Mago Ships Solstice
Yesterday, El Mago Cigars has begun shipping its newest creation.
Solstice is a 6 x 48 “thin toro” made with a Nicaraguan Sumatra-seed wrapper covering an Ecuadorian habano binder and a filler blend made entirely of Nicaraguan tobacco. The MSRP is set at $12 per cigar and each cigar is packaged in tubes, with 14 cigars in each box.
According to Nick Fusco, founder of El Mago Cigars, only 1,000 boxes of the limited edition were made. As is the case with all of El Mago’s cigars, the Solstice is made at Miguel Pinto’s MGE Cigars Factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
Fusco launched El Mago in 2o22 to honor his grandparents, Maria and Gonzalo Torre, who died in the collapse of Champlain Towers South in Surfside, Fla. The company’s debut lines are inspired by Maria and Gonzalo. For example, Pepe was Gonzalo’s nickname and Místico, Spanish for mystical, references the magic between Gonzalo and Maria.
