Drew Estate’s Herrera Esteli brand will be getting a minor update in the form of a slightly modified band. The new band adds “By Drew Estate” to the bottom of the band, replacing “Imported From Nicaragua.”

Jonathan Drew, chairman of Drew Estate, sent halfwheel the working band. He left the door open for other minor packaging updates, but indicated the band change would be the only thing confirmed.

Herrera Esteli 2014 Band

“The Herrea Esteli brand mark is making a slight change to the front of the band by substituting the word ‘Nicaragua’ with ‘Drew Estate,’” said Drew. “There is absolutely no change to the product itself.”

The packaging change comes almost six months after the announcement that Drew Estate had settled the dispute with Herrera Cigars over the Herrera name.

“We are excited about the possible expansion of the ‘Herrera Esteli by Drew Estate’ brand later in 2014 with a few refined specialty cigars, but we are not prepared to discuss them at this point,” said Drew.

He would not give a timeline on when the new bands will be seen on shelves, but made it clear the band will be used for the original Herrera Esteli brand, not the upcoming second release from Willy Herrera and Drew Estate, expected in 2014.
