After being an exclusive for retail members of the Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA) since its debut in May 2023, the Don Pepin — Vintage Edition from My Father Cigars will soon be available to all retailers, and will also be adding two new sizes.

Those two new sizes will be a 5 3/4 x 48 corona gorda and a 4 1/2 x 50 petit robusto, which will bring the total number of sizes in the line to five:

  • Don Pepin — Vintage Edition Corona Gorda (5 3/4 x 48) — $12 (Box of 10, $120)
  • Don Pepin — Vintage Edition Petit Robusto (4 1/2 x 50) — $11.50 (Box of 10, $115)
  • Don Pepin — Vintage Edition Robusto (5 x 54) — $13.50 (Box of 10, $135)
  • Don Pepin — Vintage Edition Toro (6 x 52) — $14 (Box of 10, $140)
  • Don Pepin — Vintage Edition Toro Gordo (6 x 60) — $14.50 (Box of 10, $145)

The Don Pepin — Vintage Edition is a Nicaraguan puro that uses a corojo 99 wrapper, with production handled by My Father Cigars S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua. The line is recognizable for its vintage-looking bands and boxes, as the design dates back to one of the earliest bands ever known to be on a Don Pepín García cigar.

The line was released as part of the 20th anniversary of the Don Pepín García brand.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
