Definition Cigars has announced that it will be introducing Genesis, a new cigar line created in partnership with Luciano Cigars, and will debut the cigar at the 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show.

The cigar uses an Ecuadorian broadleaf hybrid wrapper, a Mexican San Andrés binder, and Nicaraguan fillers from Ometepe, Condega, Pueblo Nueva, and what Luciano Cigars describes as a native Nicaraguan tobacco called Chincagre that is grown in the Masatepe region.

The line is debuting in a 5 1/2 x 54 Super Robusto vitola priced at $12.49 per cigar and presented in 20-count boxes.

According to a press release, the Genesis is designed to provide smokers “to question the root of their identity, their beliefs, and connection to the beginning of what defines them and how they define what they encounter in life.”

“I am truly grateful to have collaborated with Luciano on Genesis,” said Jamond Hackley, owner of Definition Cigars, via a press release. “His expertise and craftsmanship have elevated this cigar to extraordinary heights. It is a reflection of our friendship and our shared commitment to delivering exceptional experiences to our customers.”

Founded in 2019, Definition Cigars offers five lines in its portfolio, including the 919 Series, Noir Cameroon, Conception, Pig, and Walking Stick. This is the first time that Definition Cigars has worked with Luciano Cigars.

“Jamond’s discerning palate and ability to select unique, high-quality blends have left a lasting impression,” said Luciano Meirelles, ceo and co-founder of Luciano Cigars, in a press release. “His brand and this blend are an extension of his humanity and dedication to serving others. I’m honored to contribute to this project.”

The Definition Genesis is scheduled to ship to retailers at the end of July.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
