Dan Gallagher has been promoted to president of The Cigarette Store, LLC, the entity better known as Smoker Friendly.

Previously, Terry Gallagher Jr., Dan’s brother, served as president. Gallagher Jr. will remain in his other roles as ceo and chairman of the board of the company.

“Dan has been instrumental in the growth of Smoker Friendly since its inception and key in establishing the great culture we have in this company,” said Gallagher Jr. in a press release. “Those of you who have worked closely with Dan know he is very deserving of this role and extremely capable of leading this company. While I have been the only President of TCSC and then TCS LLC since its organization in 1991, I’m very happy to see Dan in this role.”

In 2002—after eight years at Alternative Fuels, Inc.—Gallagher returned to Smoker Friendly first as vp of operations before being promoted to chief operating officer and later executive vice-president. In addition to his role as president, he will continue to be the company’s coo.

Smoker Friendly is a multi-faceted company that contains traditional cigar stores, tobacco stores, liquor stores, fueling locations and an online store, paylesscigarsandpipes.com. There are 344 Smoker Friendly locations in 13 states as well as independently-owned stores that are part of the Smoker Friendly network. In addition, the company has its own private-label brands and operates the Rocky Mountain Cigar Festival.
