Following up on January’s Protocol John Doe Series, Cubariqueño Cigar Co. has announced the upcoming release of the Protocol Jane Doe Series.

Like its predecessor, and in keeping with the theme behind its name, no specifics about the blend are being disclosed, though the company is confirming that it measures 6 x 52 and was produced at La Zona Cigar Factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. The cigar will makes its debut on June 1 during the company’s fourth anniversary celebration at the Holiday Inn in Clinton, N.J.

The cigars come packed in 10-count paper wrapped bundles priced at $99. The quantity of cigars produced has also not been disclosed, but a press release from the company indicated that if any bundles remain after the event, they will be made available to people unable to attend the party.

Cubariqueño Cigar Co. is the creation of Juan Cancel and Bill Ives, both of whom come from a law enforcement background and who have brought that to the names of their cigars.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
