After revealing yesterday that its Limitada line will be getting two new additions, Crux Cigars has announced that it will add a new extension to its Epicure line.

The Crux Epicure Galant is a three-size, regular production line that uses a Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper, which marks the first time that leaf has been used by the company. “We have been asked about a maduro being added to our lineup for the past couple of years,” said Jeff Haugen, president of Crux Cigars, via a press release. “This is the first blend in that tradition that we felt satisfies our desire to produce a premium smoking experience.”

Underneath the San Andrés wrapper is a Nicaraguan binder and filler. The cigars are being made at the Plasencia Cigars S.A. factory in Estelí, Nicaragua..

Each of the sizes come in 10-count boxes:

  • Crux Epicure Galant Robusto (5 x 50) — $10.00
  • Crux Epicure Galant Toro (6 1/4 x 52) — $11.50
  • Crux Epicure Galant Robusto Extra (5 3/4 x  54) — $10.75

The company has not yet announced a shipping date.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for, plus I'm a voice over artist. I previously covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
