Tomorrow, Crowned Heads will begin shipping two of its new releases for this summer.

The star of the show is La Vereda, arguably the new flagship line from Crowned Heads. It uses a shade-grown wrapper from Jalapa, Nicaragua over a binder, also from Jalapa, and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Crowned Heads says that the filler tobaccos are all aged for at least three years.

This is the most expensive line from Crowned Heads. It is offered in four regular production sizes:

  • La Vereda No. 50 (5 3/8 x 50) — $18.40 (Box of 20, $368)
  • La Vereda No. 52 (6 1/2 x 52) — $19.60 (Box of 20, $392)
  • La Vereda No. 54 (5 5/8 x 54) — $20.60 (Box of 20, $412)
  • La Vereda No. 56 (6 1/4 x 56) — $21.80 (Box of 20, $436)

La Vereda is being made at Erenesto Perez-Carrillo Jr.’s Tabacalera La Alianza S.A. in the Dominican Republic. The company says that just seven pairs are making the cigars, and in order to focus on quality, they were asked to slow down the speed at which they make cigars to just 60 percent.

“La Vereda is a blend I’m truly proud of and would have loved to have had as a brand in our EPC Cigar portfolio, but I’m happy that Crowned Heads has it as they are part of our extended family,” said Perez-Carrillo Jr. in a press release when the cigar was announced last month.

Also shipping to stores is the Four Kicks Mule Kicks Limited Edition 2023. Mule Kick is a near-annual limited edition release from Crowned Heads that is typically the standard Four Kicks blend but with a different wrapper.

Like other Mule Kick releases, this year’s cigar is a limited edition cigar in a 5 7/8 x 52 robusto extra size. Unlike previous Mule Kick offerings, which used the regular Four Kicks internal blend with a different wrapper, this year’s Mule Kick has modifications to both the wrapper and internal blend. Mule Kick 2023 uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over a Dominican binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. For context, the regular Four Kicks blend uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper over a binder from Nicaragua and Nicaraguan fillers.

The Four Kicks Mule Kick Limited Edition 2023 has an MSRP of $12.95 per cigar and production is limited to 3,000 boxes of 10 cigars.

Mule Kick is also made at Tabacalera La Alianza S.A.
