If your local cigar shop doesn’t carry CLE Cigar Co.’s portfolio of cigars already, they won’t be getting them this year, as today the company announced that effective March 1, the company will not open any new accounts for the remainder of 2018.

In an email sent to retailers and friends of the brand on Monday morning, Eiroa thanked them for their patience with the company’s current backorder situation. In addition, he broke the bad news to anyone looking to carry his cigars.

“We have also chosen to not open up and new accounts as of March 1st, 2018,” said Christian Eiroa, the company’s founder, in a letter to retailers. “We first need to make sure that we are serving our existing customers that have been with us for so long. We hope to be caught up by the 3rd quarter of 2018.”

The final line is a reference to the company’s existing list of backorders that it is working to fill.

Eiroa told halfwheel the company will not open new accounts for any of its brands, which includes CLE, Asylum, Puros Indios and the U.S. distribution of Patoro.
