Cigars International has opened up in Jacksonville.

Two years ago, the company—the world’s largest cigar retailer—unveiled plans for a store in Jacksonville, originally targeted for the second half of 2023. Now, the store is open, albeit some of the details have changed. First, the store’s address is 4808 Town Center Parkway, a few digits off from what was originally announced. Second, the store appears to be a bit larger than what was announced. The company says it is more than 7,000-square-feet with a 1,772-square-foot walk-in humidor and 2,193-square-feet of lounge space. There’s also another 1,729-square-feet of outdoor patio space.

Like other new Cigars International Superstores, it features a large walk-in humidor, a full service bars, an interior that is mostly for sitting and a covered outdoor patio area.

The full list of Cigars International stores is as follows:

  • Jacksonville, Fla.
  • Lutz, Fla.
  • Tampa, Fla.
  • Chesterfield, Mo.*
  • Bethlehem, Pa.
  • Bethlehem, Pa. (Downtown)
  • Hamburg, Pa.
  • South Fayette, Pa.*
  • East Ridge, Tenn.
  • The Colony, Texas
  • Conroe, Texas
  • Fort Worth, Texas
  • Katy, Texas
  • San Antonio, Texas

*Not yet open.

“We are beaming with excitement to welcome cigar enthusiasts of Jacksonville and the surrounding areas to our new location,” said Delano Perez, district manager for the Jacksonville store, in a press release. “Our knowledgeable staff, comfortable lounge and patio, as well as stocked humidor are ready to serve CI Nation.”

Previously, Cigars International told halfwheel that it only had plans to open one store in the Jacksonville market. In the earlier parts of the decade, Cigars International seemed focused on adding multiple stores in a single area—like Dallas-Fort Worth and Tampa—though recent locations near Chatanooga, this store in Jacksonville and an upcoming location near Pittsburgh suggest that strategy has changed.

Cigars International is the world’s largest retailer of cigars and is part of a massive omnichannel retail operation owned by Scandinavian Tobacco Group. In addition to Cigars International—which is best known for its online and catalog business—STG also owns Thompson Cigar, Cigar Bid, Cigar.com, Pipes and Cigars, and Club Macanudo.
