Bugatti has recently rolled out a new warranty program for its two new lighters, the Mirage and the Vulcan, both of which became known for offering user replaceable burner heads and running on individual fuel canisters as opposed to having a refillable tank.

Now when customers buy one of the lighters, they are encouraged to register it via the company’s website. During the registration process, the customer will have the option to upgrade from the current two-year warranty, Yuval Hadaya of Bugatti Group LLC told halfwheel.

The first option that a customer will have to pick from is to add on a limited lifetime warranty for $15 to extend coverage beyond the included two-year warranty. This covers mechanical parts only and excludes damages resulting from accident, loss, misuse, tampering, or abuse. It also does not cover outer case finishes or faults occurring through bad repairs, natural wear and tear, or the use of low-quality gas refills.

The second option is to select optional replacement coverage for an additional $24.99. This plan includes the limited lifetime warranty and in addition, includes five years of coverage for accidents. If selected, it begins from the date of purchase of lighter and includes a one-time replacement lighter of equal value for up to five years for any reason. It also covers mechanical parts, accidents, and physical damage, but excludes loss and theft.

Customers are currently able to sign up for the new warranty program via BugattiLighters.com.

Hataya also told halfwheel that he is working on new colors for both lighters that he expects to have available this summer, as well as an updated packaging option. He is planning on removing the user-replaceable burner head from the package to streamline it, as well as because while he is proud of the concept, having an extra one included conveyed the wrong message to consumers, that is that you’d need it sooner than later. He told halfwheelthat most customers should be able to get three years of use out of that initial burner head. It will still be available for purchase or as part of a warranty plan.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
