Oveja Negra Brands is now official.

The company, which previously was known as Boutiques Unified, has announced its new name, a reference to the fact that its brands are produced at Fabrica Oveja Negra in Estelí, Nicaragua. Amongst those brands are Black Label Trading Co., Black Works Studio, Dissident and Emilio.

While the company has a new name, the physical distribution is still being operated by L.J. Zucca.

This is the fourth different name for the company, which began as House of Emilio. In 2016 it rebranded as Boutiques United, which quickly changed to Boutiques Unified due to a trademark concern.

I am an editor and co-founder of halfwheel.com/Rueda Media, LLC. I previously co-founded and published TheCigarFeed, one of the two predecessors of halfwheel. I have written about the cigar industry for more than a decade, covering everything from product launches to regulation to M&A. In addition, I handle a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff here at halfwheel. I enjoy playing tennis, watching boxing, falling asleep to the Le Mans 24, wearing sweatshirts year-round and eating gyros. echte liebe.
