The newest sizes in Black Star Line Cigars’ Lalibela and Dark War Witch lines are on their way to stores.

The Lalibela line, which uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and filler, is getting a 7 1/2 x 40 lancero priced at $14, as well as a 5 x 50 robusto priced at $12, both of which are limited editions. There are 3,000 lanceros being released, split between 75 boxes of 20 cigars and 75 bundles of 20 cigars. The robusto is even more limited, with just 2,000 cigars produced, split between 50 boxes of 20 cigars and 50 bundles of 20 cigars.

The line is also available in a 6 x 60 gordo and a 6 x 52 toro vitola.

Black Star Line Cigars’ Dark War Witch line is adding a 4 3/4 x 60 perfecto vitola, and it is also a limited edition. The company has produced 200 boxes of 10 cigars, a total run of 2,000 cigars, with pricing set at $10.40 per cigar and $104 per box. The new size keeps the line’s blend details, meaning a Nicaraguan puro with a corojo 99 wrapper.

All of the cigars are being produced by the Aganorsa factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.

“We are getting bigger, and we need some more vitolas to round out the brands we have,” said Aric Bey, owner of Black Star Line Cigars, via a press release. “Early on, I could only afford to do one or two vitolas at a time. We have had tremendous success and support so we are bringing out new sizes for the cigar community to enjoy.”

As for Marun, the limited edition cigar that celebrates Black Star Line Cigars’ fifth anniversary, Bey told halfwheel he expects that it will ship in late May or early June. That cigar is being produced in collaboration with Espinosa Premium Cigars and is made at the La Zona Cigar Factory in Estelî, Nicaragua.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
