The Asylum brand is continuing its exploration into aromatic flavors via the use of exotic tobaccos with its newest line, Cool Brew, which is debuting at the 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show. It follows on the heels of the Asylum 867 that was unveiled earlier this year.

The company has not yet released details about the tobacco used in the cigar, nor has it made a statement about just what kind of flavors a consumer should expect to get from the cigar.

“We believe that products like the Asylum Cool Brew and the earlier announced Asylum 867 will attract brand new cigar smokers to the Asylum brand,” said Christian Eiroa, founder and president of C.L.E. Cigar Company, via a press release.

The Asylum Cool Brew is being offered in four sizes:

  • Asylum Cool Brew 50X5 — $10 (Box of 25, $250)
  • Asylum Cool Brew 54X6 — $11 (Box of 25, $275)
  • Asylum Cool Brew 60X6 — $12 (Box of 25, $300)
  • Asylum Cool Brew 70X7 — $13.50 (Box of 25, $337.50)

“The rebellious personality of the Asylum brand allows us to create blends for those looking for something different,” said Tom Lazuka, vp of sales of C.L.E. Cigar Company and co-founder of Asylum Cigars, said in a press release. “The Cool Brew opens a brand-new segment for us. The whole idea is to have fun and do different things with the Asylum brand.”

The company has not yet announced a shipping date or where the cigars are being produced.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
